Phil Clark is the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Detroit. Phil has been with Detroit since 1989 and Chief since 1996. Phil is a Past President of the Reciprocal Electrical Council of Southeastern Michigan, and is the current Chapter President.
Phil was recently selected by the IAEI as an Alternate Code Panel member for Code Panel #12 for the 2014 Code cycle.
Phil is a graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy, and has been a Master electrician since 1982. Phil has been a member of the Adjunct Faculty in the Trade and Apprentice Division of Henry Ford Community College since 1995, teaching classes in Electrical Code, Industrial and commercial wiring and Fire Alarm Systems.
Phil is an active participant in a variety of sports and enjoys singing with his band, books, movies, and time spent with his grandsons and goddaughters.

The Michigan Chapter and the IAEI are dedicated to the training of electrical professionals. The Chapter provides three educational programs annually. There is a Spring, Summer and Annual Educational Seminars. The Spring Meeting is normally located in the mid section of the lower peninsula during the month of March. The Summer Meeting is normally in the upper section of the lower peninsula and has taken place in the upper peninsula during the month of June. The Annual Meeting normally takes place in the south east section of the lower peninsula during the first part of December.

2009 Michigan Residential Code Effective March 9, 2011
The State of Michigan has adopted the 2008 Michigan Electrical Code and it became effective on December 2, 2009. The 2009 Michigan Residential Code became effective on March 9, 2011.
