Differences between the MRC and NEC

We are interested in knowing any differences that you maybe aware of between the NEC and the MRC. Please forward any information that you may have to Dave Williams so that he can bring those to the committee working on making the two documents the same as far as the intent of the code, not the wording.

2006 Michigan Residential Code (Effective August 1st)

The Michigan Residential Code became effective August 1st, 2008. The 2006 Michigan Building Code will also take effect that date.

2011 National Electrical Code

Are you kidding? NO, Even though the State of Michigan is so out of touch with the rest of the country, we need to stay on top of things to be able to make the changes needed. I am sure you are thinking retirement way before the State adopts the 2011 NEC. Well do it for your grand kids.

Proposals
- The IAEI is requesting every Chapter to endorse at least ten proposals and send them to the Section meeting for their endorsement. The IAEI will then provide the formal endorsement and send them to NFPA. NFPA has been delaying the publication dates for the NEC so that the IAEI Section meetings can provide valuable input into the NEC document. We are requesting that everyone in our organization to get involved in the Code Making Process. It is our code if we get involved. You are more qualified to change the code than anyone else I know. Do it. (2011 NEC Proposal Form)
